FAIRFIELD, N.J. – July 9, 2015– KYOCERA Document Solutions America, one of the world's leading document solutions companies, today announced the launch of a new multifunctional printer (MFP). As part of KYOCERA’s environmentally friendly ECOSYS line, this desktop MFP features Kyocera’s patented long-life drum technology. Kyocera Introduces New Powerful Color MFP
Customizable and Powerful

You begin by finding out exactly where your money is going. In most businesses, rent or building payments are the number one expense. Salaries are the second highest business expense. Printing is the third.
Let's explore reducing your rental/building expenses. The options there would be extend your building mortgage, sell your building and move to another location paying less rent or lower payments. Uprooting your business, downsizing or refinancing are not good ideas on any level and will actually cost you more in the long run.
Salaries? Your options are to reduce current salaries, cut staff or go to furloughs. This is not any business owners goal. Ever. It reduces current business efficiencis, production and stunts future growth. Not to mention, it may scare away excellent employees and create an environment of uncertainty.
Now, let's talk about the third highest business expense in business, printing. Most businesses have no idea that the cost of their print environment is so high. Actually, most business managers and owners underestimate what they're currently spending by as much as 50%. How does this happen? Expenses are alotted to different staff, departments and general ledger accounts depending on who is authorized to purchase devices, order supplies and call for service. There may also be over utilized and under utilized equipment costing you more than they should be.
New industry technology and intelligence makes it possible to capture all of these expenses and inefficiencies. Toner and service costs may be reduced by the strategic placement of current equipment, replacement of obsolete or expensive to operate equipment and the elimination of under utilized equipment. The new print environment will be monitored for toner levels, service issues and meter read collection. Things your employees and IT staff are currently doing, taking away from the daily operations of your business. These tasks will be taken care of for you at a lower cost per print than you're currently paying. That savings could be as much as 30%. One vendor is involved. One invoice is issued. And that makes "cents". Real dollars and cents that you can see and put back into your business from day one.

Toner Pirates are scary. They trick unaware companies into giving them information about their copiers and printers. They may make several phone calls to gather bits of information. Then they may use high pressure sales tactics or appeal to your sense of urgency to get you to make the decision to buy their toner now.
One tactic that we see often is that someone will call claiming to be a representative from your current copier company. They will say that the price of toner is getting ready to go up and they are offering you toner at a discounted price as a loyal customer. Remember, they may have already called and gotten information about your equipment so they are able to make their statements very believable. After they receive your toner order, you will receive a shipment of toner and an outrageous bill. In some cases we have seen companies receive toner (and the bill) just because someone has given them information over the phone but did not consent to order any toner. When the Toner Pirates have your equipment information they have the advantange. Buyer Beware. If you did not initiate the call, be leary.
There are some things you can do to ensure that your company is not a victim of Toner Pirates:
If the caller is truly your equipment company, they will have your information.
Never place an order over the phone unless you initiate the call. Ask for a call back number. They will hang up.
Beware of terms such as: Beat the price increase; Last remaining stock; Offer expiring today
Ask for company references. They will hang up.
Designate someone within the company/department to handle all matters regarding your equipment or supply ordering.
Inform everyone who answers the phone within your company about Toner Pirates and what to look for. Most businesses have equipment contracts that include the toner at no additional charge.
Never sign for a shipment that you cannot confirm was ordered.
DO NOT ACCEPT DELIVERY - return any unordered shipments to the sender
If the order has already been accepted, DO NOT USE THE TONER. Send the shipper a letter stating that there is no valid proof of the order and that the shipment will be disposed of in 30 days if the merchandise is not recovered and that you invalidate any claim that you accepted an offer of sale by keeping the shipment. Send this letter registered/certified mail with return receipt requested.
DO NOT PAY AN INVOICE FOR UNAUTHORIZED SHIPMENTS. If the shipping company does not respond to your certified letter within 30 days, notifiy the Better Business Bureau in your area.
Contact your equipment dealer and advise them of the Toner Pirate scam in your area. These companies use auto-dial systems to call business numbers in sequence. If you've received a call, the following numbers in the series will receive a call as well. Your equipment dealer will put other customers on alert.
Also keep in mind that using toner other than that provided by your original equipment manufacturer or from your authorized dealer may void any and all warranties and service contracts. Refurbished or unauthorized toner may damage your equipment.

Misfed or Skewed Copies
First, ask yourself, is the paper loaded in the paper drawer correctly? Follow the steps below which may be a quick fix:
1. Remove the paper from the drawer and check the pages at the bottom of the stack. Are they curled up or under? Remove and discard any bent or curled sheets. Fan the paper before putting it back in the drawer.
2. Check to make sure the paper guides are adjusted tightly against the paper.
3. Check and make sure that your printer/copier settings are set to match the type of media your using (card stock, glossy, envelopes). The rollers may not have enough tension to pull through specialy papers if not set correctly.
4. If a misfeed or skewing still exists, try a different paper drawer. If you are not having the same issue with this drawer, call for service.
5. If a misfeed or skewing is not a problem with the second drawer, call for service on the first drawer and use the second drawer until a technician arrives and corrects the problem.
Lines/Smudges on Copies
Sometimes a quick clean up will take care of this issue.
1. Clean both pieces of glass, the large platen and the small slit of glass just to the left of it (scan glass) with window cleaner. Spray a cloth with the cleaner to apply. Do not spray directly on the glass.
2. If the line still exists, make a copy directly on the platen glass instead of through the document feeder. If the line still exists, the problem is coming from inside the machine and you will need to call service.
3. If the the line is not there when making a copy directly on the platen, make a copy using the document feeder. If the copy has the line one it, compare your copy to the scan glass (the slit to left of the platen). If you find a mark, remove it with your thumb nail. Make another copy using the document feeder. If the line still appears on the copy, call for service.
If you are having trouble sending or receiving faxes, try the tips below:
1. Check the phone line. Press "Off Hook" or "Line Monitor" to make sure you have a dial tone.
2. If there is no dial tone, make sure the telephone line cord is plugged into the wall outlet. Make sure the line is plugged into the fax port on the machine securely. If the line cord is correct, contact your phone company.
3. If you have a dial tone, call for service.
1. Turn the machine off at both power switches (the sub switch on the control panel and the main switch on the side or back of the machine).
2. Wait until the power light turns off before turning of the main switch.
3. Wait 20 seconds and then turn the main power switch back on, and then the sub switch on the control panel. If the error code has not cleared call for service.
1. Turn the machine off by the sub switch and the main switch as described above.
2. Wait 20 seconds, then turn the main switch and the sub switch back on.
3. Wait at least five minutes, giving the machine's controller time to boot up, then try to print/scan again.
4. If the machine will still not print/scan, call for service.
We hope that the tips above can get you back up and running without further delay. If not, call us for service and we'll get you up and running in record time.

KYOCERA DOCUMENT SOLUTIONS SCOOP SIX 'HIGHLY RECOMMENDED' AND TWO 'SUMMER PICK' BLI AWARDS FOR THEIR A4 MFP COLOUR AND MONOCHROME DEVICES
14 August 2014
Kyocera Document Solutions, one of the world’s leading document solutions companies is delighted to announce that the BLI 'Summer Pick award' has been given to the ECOSYS M6026cidn/M6526cidn 26ppm A4 colour MFP for workgroups for the third time in this segment alongside the prestigious 'highly recommended award' for the ECOSYS M6026cidn/M6526cidn, and the A4 Monochrome MFP models M2535dn/M2035dn/M2530dn/M2030dn. The criteria for the awards are extensive and the Kyocera device outperformed the rest when it came to reliability, image quality and environmental features.
The Kyocera Ecosys M6026cidn/M6526cidn earned the BLI’s Summer 2014 Pick for Outstanding Solutions-Enabled A4 Colour MFP for Small Workgroups. These models offer seamless integration which is typically only available for much larger A3 devices, due to HyPAS embedded platform. HyPAS software is developed by Kyocera or third parties, even the smallest workgroup workflows can benefit from individual applications, which can be controlled from the intuitive control panel on the device, giving Kyocera true differentiation.
"To be awarded the BLI pick award for the third time for our A4 colour MFPs recognizes our continuous development in this segment is working and we continue to improve our leadership position in A4 colour MFPs (26-30ppm). The combination of hardware reliability and the unique HyPAS platform offers an extremely powerful tool that integrates with any network environment, applications such as MyQ that controls and secures document workflow and PinPointScan simplifies scan workflows. This makes the Ecosys M6526cidn the only plausible solution for small workgroups who need an all-around device" outlined Berthold Hurtz, Product Manager at Kyocera Document Solutions Europe.
The highly recommended awards were given to the Ecosys M6526cidn/M6026cidn, M2535dn/M2035dn and M2530dn/M2030dn because they stood out in key performance areas, receiving top marks in standard and maximum memory capacities and showing exceptional speeds for time to first page from energy save mode.
In addition, all products received the Reliability certification. Martin Soane, BLI’s European Lab Manager commented, "Reliability is one of the most important criteria for most buyers and Kyocera continues to excel in this area. We have come to expect reliability, but Kyocera just keep raising the bar in the reliability stakes."
Other features that made Kyocera stand out were the new KX driver version 6 which sees improvements to configuration settings and enhanced graphics to ensure fewer clicks are needed for superior usability. Excellent image quality including crisp text, combined with high engine productivity due to the powerful controller technology mean print jobs can be completed quickly, which is ideal for the demanding modern workplace.
Hurtz continues, "We are delighted to receive such glowing results across so many products. The awards validate our continuous drive to provide our customers with value, reliability and performance."
About BLI’s Picks
Twice a year with its Pick awards, BLI gives special recognition in each category to those products that provided the most outstanding performances in BLI’s exhaustive lab tests.
BLI’s awards stand alone in that they are based on a rigorous battery of lab tests that takes approximately two months to complete. The evaluation includes an extensive durability test, during a portion of which each unit is run at the manufacturer's maximum duty cycle. BLI’s durability test is unique among office product evaluations and uniquely qualifies BLI to assess reliability, a critical factor for buyers and IT directors.
Other performance attributes evaluated include ease of use, media handling, productivity and value, among others. Each product that successfully passes BLI’s lab test earns BLI’s “Recommended” or “Highly Recommended” seal and a BLI “Certificate of Reliability” and qualifies as a Pick award contender. Consequently, a BLI Pick is a hard-earned award that buyers and IT directors can trust to better guide them in their acquisition decisions.

TCO means "Total Cost of Ownership". It is something that we, as consumers, look for every day in our personal lives. We look at net weight and serving size when comparing food prices. We look at miles per gallon, standard features and length of warranty when we compare car prices. We consider longevity, maintenance cost, upkeep and the value of features when we purchase property. We look at quality, durability and sustainability when we purchase furniture and appliances. We are not as diligent when it comes to purchases made for our business. Just like with our personal endeavers, considering durability, reliability, volume and yield can make a huge difference in what you actually end up paying for your office equipment.
There are extremely inexpensive MFP's (multi-functional printers) to be found in office supply and big box stores. We call these disposables. Why? Because if breaks down, even if it's only a minor spring adjustment, you can't get it fixed. You go and buy another one. Manufacturers of this type of device also change models and features frequently. This makes it hard to find ink cartridges for the model you just bought. If you do find it, you'll pay a lot more due to supply and demand. This is how they make their money. Some would say "for the price, I can afford to throw it away". Sounds good in theory. How will you dispose of it? Often they end up hoarding space in a supply room somewhere. In reality you are paying a lot more for a device that will probably last a year or less than you think. The cost of each ink cartridge and the number of copies/prints each cartridge will yield needs to be considered in order to calculate your actual "Total Cost of Ownership". Industry statistics show that 90% of business owners have no idea how much they are spending on their print environment. 50% grossly underestimate what they are actually spending.
Partnering with a reputable and experienced office solutions company may save you $1,000's a year on your print environment. If fact, industry statistics show that for every employee within a business, $1,000 each is spent copying and printing. Each.
Copiers Plus offers a comprehensive, complementary print analysis which will reveal your print environments "Total Cost of Ownership". Visit our website if you would like to learn more at http://www.copiers-plus.com/print_management/the_mps_analysis_process.aspx or request an analysis. It's always a great day to start saving money for your business and remember, it's not always what you see that makes a difference.
Kyocera Document Solutions, one of the world's leading document solutions companies announces Three Tier Color Coverage Billing Solutions that revolutionises the way customers pay for printing, ensuring consumers need only pay for the color they use.
Current printer service maintenance agreements charge one price for a color print regardless of the amount of color ink actually used on the page. Three Tier Color Coverage Billing completely changes this pricing model by only charging customers for the actual color they print. With Three Tier Color Coverage Billing, print costs based on actual usage of colur toner per page which allows customers to simply pay for what they use.
Three tier billing is especially beneficial to customers with low color coverage levels who are generally charged full color on a page. Three Tier Billing meets the needs of all businesses as it reduces the amount of full color printing and can reduce color costs by up to 50%.
Our Kyocera TASKalfa multi-function device (MFD) color series has one of the lowest colour costs per page in the market. Three Tier Billing customers will see significant savings on color printing and copying with three additional counters which calculate the printed and copies pages measuring the coverage in three categories, Basic or low coverage for businesses printing perhaps only their logo in color, Office Color for medium coverage documents containing charts and grafts along with text and Creative Colour for color rich content such as brochures and presentations.
Currently, most businesses print in monochrome to avoid the cost of color prints/copies and are reluctant to bring color printing in house due to high color printing charges. With Three Tier Color Coverage Billing, businesses control what they print, how they print and the cost of what they print in color.
So, whether you are buying new, upgrading or have an existing TASKalfa, Three Tiered Color Billing may be exactly what you've needed to add color your world.

As with anything new, we are slow to respond to most new things that come on the market. That is until we find out that someone we know is using it and are benefiting from it. Besides being human nature, we are also leery of the time it may take to implement change. Time is something that is in a deficit for all of us. This is one reason that most businesses underestimate their printing costs by as much a 50%. No one has the time or the means to keep track of it. And we all know what happens when we talk about changing an employees workflow habits. Change is hard. But so is working with the frustrations of downtime, wrong ink cartridges and obsolete equipment. Not to mention the accounting and IT portion of managing your devices. If you were able to capture all of the expense involved in your current print environment you may find that the average office employee spends $1,000 a year in document output. That's per employee. That is significant to any business.
There is great news about these concerns. Managed Print Services has been gaining strides over the last decade. New, intelligent innovations in device technology is now increasing the benefits of operating under a MPS Solution more than ever, with little or no interruption in the workflow and there may be no change to your current workflow. Better yet, these technologies are freeing up company employees so that taking care of print related issues is not one of their concerns or responsibilities. Industry data suggests that as of 2013, 50% of all MFP's (Multi-Functional printers) were placed under some type of MPS Program due to these overwhelming benefits to businesses. Toner levels are monitored and toner is shipped automatically, service is monitored and technicians are dispatched automatically, obsolete devices are replaced without additional charge, there are no Capital Expenditures, there are no out of date or obsolete toner cartridges or devices to store and dispose of, IT personnel are not hindered with printer issues, accounting is reduced to one invoice from one vendor. Printing costs are now identified and manageable. Your employees are now more productive and efficient.
Now, I know the questions running through your mind. How can an office solutions company take over the responsibilities that my company is doing internally now and still save us money? Real money. As in dollars and cents. What's the catch? Refreshingly there is no catch. This is as beneficial to our business as it is yours. We are able to better plan, schedule and control toner replenishment, service dispatch and the replacement of obsolete equipment. It is expensive to maintain old devices. It is as beneficial to us as it is to our customers to keep things running smoothly and efficiently. It saves us money. We pass that savings on to you. The more efficiently we manage your print environment, the more print environments we can manage. And we want to keep or earn your business. It makes perfect since in this ever changing world of technology. That is why we offer the Managed Print Services analysis and results free of charge. We know it will save you money, increase productivity and efficiency within your business. Real money. Dollars and cents that actually comes out of your bottom line. It is a true win, win for everyone. If your business has grown to the point where you have an IT Department or contract IT Services, you will benefit from Managed Print Services.

Copiers Plus has received the Kyocera Premier Dealer award for the 10th year. This prestigious award is granted to less than 8% of Kyocera's 435 dealers nationwide for reaching manufacturer growth year over year. Savings on service and repair cost - a Maintenance Agreement is based on the volume of copies and prints made during the year and NOT on the number of service calls needed to keep the device up and running smoothly. Maintenance Agreements include parts, labor, toner, supplies and travel. With an agreement in place, clients are not subject to any price increases that occur for the duration of the agreement.
Priority Call Status - service calls for clients with an existing Maintenance Agreement are placed on priority status. Clients on a Time and Material basis will receive service after MA clients are taken care of.
Minimum downtime - Maintenance Agreement clients are on priority call status and many are set up for automated reporting so that problems with copy and print devices are reported before the device goes down.
Optimize print quality - copy and print quality is a reflection of a client's business. Maintenance Agreements ensure that clients receive the fastest response time to keep copy/print quality at a premium.
Maintain a regular maintenance schedule - Maintenance Agreements include scheduled preventative maintenance check-ups to reduce service calls, maintain copy quality and prevent down time.
Prolong the life of your copiers and printers - timely response time to service calls and scheduled preventative maintenance maintains every component of the client's copy and print devices to ensure damage to additional parts does not occur and extends the life of the device.
Loaner device when needed - a loaner is provided to the client to reduce down time when a copy or print device cannot be repaired in a timely manner.
Automated Toner Replenishment - copy and print devices on a Maintenance Agreement are set up to report toner levels and toner is automatically shipped as needed. This will free up the office staff to focus on other important tasks, prevent the purchase and storing of toner, prevent downtime due to a lack of supplies and eliminate the chance of having toner remaining when a copy or print device is replaced.
No freight charges - client's on a Maintenance Agreement are not charged freight for toner and supplies. Toner and supplies are shipped UPS overnight, next day delivery.
NO SURPRISES - with a Maintenance Agreement, a client is able to budget funds for copy and print device service and supplies. Usage is monitored to keep overage charges at a minimum. Copiers Plus does not charge a higher rate for overages than the volume included within the Agreement. Device service and supplies is the leading unaudited business expense. A Maintenance Agreement allows a business to control these expenses.
That is a great question and one that many business decision makers get frustrated over. They may ask themselves, "How can getting a company to do more for me reduce my cost of printing?" Another great question. What makes this so frustrating is that when you search for information on Managed Print Services on the internet, you get a vast amount of information on what the process is and very little specifics on how it works and how it can reduce cost for your business. Reading through the mountain of information just to understand it isnt necessary. The process is fairly easy. Taking the results and implementing a cost effective solution is not.
A two to four week assessment will be performed
We will take a meter read from each output device you have and come back in two to four weeks to do this one more time.
While doing this "walkthrough" we will also take note of current business processes, work flow and needs of end users.
Copiers - we will need a copy of any leases and/or maintenance agreements on your current devices.
Printers - we will need to know where you buy your toner from and/or how much each toner cartridge cost. And if there are any maintenance agreements on your printers, we will need a copy of the contract.
Improved employee productivity
Improved environmental sustainability
Lowered operating costs
We may recommend repositioning your print devices based on how they are being used, replace old print devices that have a higher total cost of ownership than newer models, recommend added functions that will streamline your workflow and make it more efficient and secure.
Continuously monitor devices' toner usage on print volumes to see where improvements can be made as your business evolves

A managed print services companies first priority should be to present a value added product to the customer whether it be equipment, supplies or service. An MPS Contract enhances their ability to do that through office automation. Service issues, supplies and toner orders are monitored and automatically reported before the client has a down machine or runs out of toner. Toner and supplies are automatically shipped or a technician is dispatched. This also reduces cost to the dealer on unnecessary supplies being ordered or ordered by multiple persons. Billing becomes streamlined as meter reads are automatically reported so the dealer doesn't have to wait for someone to send it or call it in. These are huge savings in the cost of production for the dealer as well as the client.
You see, Managed Print Services is really very simple. It's automating the processes that businesses are already performing, more efficiently and at a lower cost. That's the goal.
